A little bit about Lighthouse Associates, Inc.

In 2004, Lighthouse Associates, Inc. founders Gordon and Nancy Hall started a non-profit organization in Fergus Falls, MN, to address the growing, unmet need in that region for representative payees to serve vulnerable, disabled individuals.  In the decade to follow, the Halls gradually expanded the scope of their organization to meet the needs of clients requiring fiduciary, conservator, and power of attorney services.  Eventually they opened a branch office in Northwood, ND, to serve mainly the Upper Red River Valley.  This division came to be independently incorporated in North Dakota as “Lighthouse Associates, Inc.” in 2012.

Lighthouse Associates uses advance accounting technology and has built its reputation on experienced staff who are committed to client welfare and ethical practices.  Their volunteer advisory board, including a licensed certified social worker (LCSW), an education specialist in school psychology (EDS), and a social services designee, works to ensure Lighthouse owners and employees act with an up-to-date working knowledge of the complex issues affecting our clients.

In 2015, Lighthouse Associates expanded its practice to offer comprehensive guardianship services. Staff members that provide guardianship services are  certified by the Center for Guardianship Certification and are members of the National Guardianship Organization whose mission is to advance the nationally recognized standards of excellence in guardianship.

Mission Statement

The Mission of Lighthouse Associates, Inc. Payee Service Division is to ensure that individuals with mental and/or physical disabilities have their financial resources protected and properly used for their support, care, and welfare.  Our Goal is to represent clients in an honorable manner, to create a budget for each of our clients, to assist them in budgeting their finances, and, for those that have the ability, to one day have them take responsibility for payment of their own bills.

The Mission of Lighthouse Associates, Inc. Guardianship Division is to provide effective surrogate decision-making for adults who lack the capacity as a result of mental and/or physical disabilities.  Our Goal is to provide opportunities for self-determination, autonomy, recovery, and rehabilitation while at all times safeguarding their best interests.
